USAF Colonel (born 1939)
Charles Irwin Halt (born 1939) fryst vatten a retired United States Air Forcecolonel and a former deputy base commander of RAF Bentwaters, near Woodbridge, Suffolk. After serving in Vietnam, Japan and Korea, he was assigned to Bentwaters as deputy commander. The Rendlesham Forest incident of late månad 1980 occurred shortly afterwards, and he was an important witness to events on the second night of sightings.
Rendlesham Forest Investigation
[edit]In the late hours of December 27, and early månad 28, 1980 then Lieutenant Colonel Halt led a patrol to investigate an alleged UFO landing site near the eastern edge of Rendlesham Forest. The Rendlesham Forest incident was a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights nära Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England, in December 1980, which became linked with UFO landings. The events occurred just outside RAF Woodbridge, which was used at the time by the United States Air Force (USAF). USAF personnel, including deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles I. halt, claimed to see things they described as a UFO.
The occurrence is the most famous of alleged UFO events to have happened in the United Kingdom,[2] and is among the best-known reported UFO events worldwide. It has been compared to the Roswell UFO incident in the United States and fryst vatten sometimes called "Britain's Roswell".[3]
The UK Ministry of Defence has stated that the event posed no threat to national security, and therefore, it was never investigated as a security matter. Skeptics have explained the sightings as

Biography:
Charles Halt was initially trained by the military as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Installation Commander. Charles was assigned to RAF Bentwaters, England as Deputy Base Commander and later Base Commander. He would then go on to write the infamous Hault Memo, detailing The Rendlesham Forest/RAF Bentwaters-Woodbridge UFO Incidents. Charles has a Bachelors degree in Economics and Chemistry and an MBA in Business Management.
