    The Formula One racing season has not yet begun, but the "silly season" has. Mclaren kicked it off when they announced that they had signed Juan-Pablo Montoya for a few months ago. This created a definate vacancy at Williams and another seat could open up there as talks with Ralf Schumacher have stalled over a salary dispute.

    Three current racers rank highly on William's list; BAR's Jenson Button, Jaguar's Mark Webber and Sauber's Giancarlo Fisichella. Although Fisichella recently signed a two year deal to drive for the Swiss team, boss Peter Sauber has already told Fisichella that he would not stand in the way of him leaving for a top grupp. Button and Webber will face more difficulties getting out of thier current contracts, and this may give Fisichella an upper hand.
