      Luis “Cheez” A. Ortiz Jr., 45, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on the evening of February 26, 2020. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Luis A. Ortiz Sr. Of Lancaster and Sue Ann Aponte-Ortiz of Pittsburgh.

      Many knew Luis for his 24 years as the shop manager for the Manheim Auto Auction. Anyone that knew Cheez, knew that his family came before everything. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, wrestling, traveling, and cheering for the San Francisco 49ers. He will also be remembered for his selfless acts. Every Christmas he would sponsor a family in need and dress up as Santa Claus to hand out toys. He did not do it for the recognition, he did it just to see the children’s faces light up and smile.
