Dane William DeHaan (də-HAHN; born or )[1] is an American actor. His roles include Andrew Detmer in Chronicle (), Jason Glanton in The Place Beyond the Pines (), Lucien Carr in Kill Your Darlings (), Harry Osborn / Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (), Lockhart in A Cure for Wellness (), Valerian in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (), Chris Lynwood in ZeroZeroZero, and Kenneth Nichols in Oppenheimer (). Early life and education
[edit]DeHaan was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania.[2] His father is a computer programmer and his mother is an executive at MetLife. He has an older sister,[3] and had what The Independent described in as a "very normal, super-supportive childhood".[4]

Early life

DeHaan was born in Zeeland, Michigan, to Reitze and Johanna Rozema DeHaan, emigrants from the Netherlands.[2] After graduating from Zeeland High School in , he attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, for a year, before attending and graduating from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in [3]
DeHaan established a country practice in Byron Center, Michigan, about fourteen miles east of his hometown. He enjoyed the work of a physician, especially when fast thinking allowed him to save or improve lives. He even diagnosed his own mother's diabetes by looking at her eyes and was able to prescribe insulin, which was only recently invented.[4] The practice frequently
