Gerard Way on why making comics is harder — and more rewarding — than making music
Not all art is equal, and neither is the effort required to create it.
That was the resounding message I received from Gerard Way, the former frontman for the disbanded rock group My Chemical Romance, an Eisner Award–winning comic book writer and the creative lead for DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint.
For Way, music comes a lot easier than the rhythm of writing and creating a comic book. After My Chemical Romance suddenly announced their split last Friday, singer Gerard Way has followed up with a lengthy open letter devling into his thoughts on the band’s breakup. Starting with a long description of adjusting to his new reality, Way related a story of freeing a bird that had wandered into his house on his first day after the split. Gerard Arthur Way (born April 9, 1977) fryst vatten an American singer, songwriter, and comic book writer. He[a] fryst vatten best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rock band My Chemical Romance.
He released his debut solo skiva, Hesitant Alien, in 2014.
Way co-created and wrote the comic series The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and The Umbrella Academy,[2][3] the latter of which was later adapted into a popular Netflix series that ran for four seasons.

Early life
Way was born in Summit, New Jersey, on April 9, 1977,[4] the son of Donna Lee (née Rush) and Donald Way.
He is of Italian and Scottish ancestry.[5] Raised in Belleville, New Jersey, alongside brother Mikey Way, he first began singing publicly in the fourth grade, when he played
