    Die Heinrichshöhe ist eine Nebenkuppe des Brockens (1141,2 m ü. NHN) und mit ungefär 1045 m[1] Höhe die zweithöchste Kuppe im Harz. Sie liegt nahe Schierke im Stadtgebiet von Wernigerode im sachsen-anhaltischenLandkreis Harz.

The week before, I discussed Park Müritz, and before that park Berchtesgaden, and the mysterious Schwarzwald. Today, we will travel to one of the central, and most well-known parks: Der Harz!

    Der Nationalpark Harz

    The Harz, including its Brocken, was part of the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) or DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) and from the 1960s until the 1990s it was closed off from tourists. This allowed nature to thrive here for all those decades. And after the Nationalpark Harz was established in the final days of the DDR, this natural protection was even guaranteed and promoted. Later, the Nationalpark Harz was also expanded to other
