Jim Brown was the greatest all around athlete in Syracuse University's history, and arguably the greatest in American history. He earned 10 varsity letters at Syracuse in four different sports (basketball, football, lacrosse, and track). At 6'2", 212 lbs, with a 29" waist, Brown was bigger, faster and stronger than most every other athlete he would encounter at every level of sports.

Who Was Jim Brown?
Jim Brown was a former All-American athlete who played for the Cleveland Browns as a star running back, setting records and earning election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He retired in 1966 to pursue an acting career, landing roles in films like The Dirty Dozen, Ice Station Zebra, and Kenner. Jim Brown, Syracuse football and lacrosse star turned NFL legend, passes away
Syracuse University and National Football League legend Jim Brown '56 passed away today. Brown is the only man enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame (1995), National Lacrosse Hall of Fame (1984) and the Professional Football Hall of Fame (1971), where he was inducted in his first year of eligibility. The 87-year-old is survived by his wife, Monique, their children, Aris and Morgan, and his daughter, Kim, and his sons, Kevin and James Jr.
