    7-Eleven, Inc.[2] is an American convenience store chain, headquartered in Irving, Texas. The chain was founded in as the Southland Ice Company, operating an ice house storefront in Dallas. Then-owned by Southland Corporation, the number of convenience stores expanded and were named Tote'm Stores between and Southland Corporation changed the stores' name to 7-Eleven in , reflecting expanded hours of operation (7 am to 11 pm). Southland Corporation started franchising its stores in ; in Ito-Yokado, a Japanese supermarket chain, signed a franchisee agreement with Southland Corporation to develop 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan.     Seven-Eleven, also spelled "7-Eleven", "Seven" or "", is an international brand of convenience stores. In , there were over 78, stores in the world. There are 7-Eleven stores in 19 different countries.

    The first 7-Eleven store was in the city of Dallas. The company that owns it, Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd., is located in Tokyo.[2] Seven-Eleven Japan is held by the Seven & I Holdings Co. holding company.[3]
