Mark Barton is one of the best-known anchors in global business television news. For 23 years he hosted flagship shows for Bloomberg Television.
Barton was one of the founding journalists of the channel’s European operations in London in and played an integral role in establishing Bloomberg TV as the influential global business news network it is today.
Mark Barton fronted all of Bloomberg TV’s prime-time programs, breaking news and analysing the biggest global business, economic and geopolitical events of the past two decades, including six U.K. general elections, six U.S. elections, the global financial crisis and Brexit.
He has conducted over 10, interviews with world leaders, finance ministers, huvud bankers and chief executives, including Bill Gates, Shimon Peres and Jean-Claude Trichet.

Dr Mark “Dicky” Barton served for a full kommission in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer Officer, recently retiring as a Commander after nearly 35 years. His early career focused on aircraft carriers and naval architecture, and he was involved in the design of the new aircraft carrier. He remains involved with naval architecture, particularly in the work of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) where he is involved in the Professional Affairs Committee conducting academic accreditations. The second half of his career was varied, serving in operations around the world, including Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia, and as the Commander Engineer on, what was at the time the Fleet Flagship, HMS Bulwark, and writing doctrine. Over the latter years, having become interested in the social history of objects, and having written various historical booklets, he went on to co-author a full book British Naval Swords and Swordsmanship. Mark Barton has almost 30 years of experience as a news presenter, event host & moderator and business journalist.
Having started an an intern in , Mark was one of the five founders of Bloomberg Television's European operations in London. Over the next two decades he went on to play an integral role in establishing Bloomberg TV as a global financial and business news network, broadcast in almost half a billion homes in over 70 countries.
Mark anchored all of Bloomberg Television's prime-time programs, breaking and analysing the biggest global business, financial market and geopolitical events over a year career, including six UK general elections, six US elections, the global financial crisis and Brexit.
